Fire spittin wundergun I qualified for my Concealed permit with my CZ, I could've taken my Beretta .40 but I wanted to get some old ammo taken care of. During the qualifying at the range I saw Taurus, Beretta, Glock and a XD. As you looked down the line you could see the minimal muzzle flash from these fine automatics. When I fired my first magazine and holstered my firearm I turned around and everyone was in shock. I don't think they had ever seen a CZ spit fire before. It was spitting 3 ft flames (great surplus Czech ammo). I think I frightened the Instructor too.. 7.62x25 can't beat it for it's penetrating qualities, and the fireworks show.

Burke, Hi, I just got my CZ and I got 10 boxes of Silver Bear JHP to try. It's made it Russia so maybe that's good, I don't know but we're going to find out. I've got 500 rounds to use up.LOL I'll keep ya posted how I do with this ammo. I like the JHP idea, if it works smoothly through lil'gal. That's what I named her. Talk to ya later, Snuffy

Factory ammo is fine but you really have to reload to get the most out of te CZ52. Worked up a hot load using H110 and 90 gr. XTP. You could see a 5 foot fireball on a bright cloudless summer afternoon. Crono'd over 1500 FPS. Don't want to reviel the load. TOO HOT unless you work up to it slowly and have a real strong recoil spring. Even with a 18# spring, it still threw the brass about 30 feet. Very consistent velocities. Extreme spread got lower with each increase in powder charge.

This is what I use in mine. Reed's Ammunition & Research, LLC I normally just use S&B 85gr fmj's at the range, though I do want to pick up some czech surplus in the near future.

Went to the outdoor range last night with mine and let another guy shoot it (after I had put 6 mags through it). He walked away smiling

I love my CZ52. I just put a heavier recoil spring it. I'm anxious to try it out.

| Forgive me. ![]() Well here's what mine looks like currently: ![]() Not really that much different from stock, looks-wise. Still have some things to do to it. Probably the biggest difference to come will be the finish when I redo it in Gunkote and get rid of the meh parkerized finish.

I took my CZ 82 out yesterday to finaly see what it was capable of do'in. My son gave me 3, 25 yard targets. when I got to my hunting grounds I found that a huge oak tree had been blown over so this made a great back stop for me to staple a target to. My shoes are 13' inches long so I steped off 7 to 8 yards (21ft+maybe) I had 10 rounds in the clip so I shot recovered shot until the clip was empty. I put all 10 rounds withen a 5 inch circle around and end the Bulls Eye. I ask my son when I got home if this was pretty good and he said It would get you by...Oh well. I might add the rounds I shot ran horizonal not up and down nor scattered thru out the 5 " circle. Is this decent or pretty good ? I know if I were shooting a human there chest and heart area would be destroyed. Should the pistol have shoot tighter at 7 to 8 yards ? Please let me know...A.H

| That last time I took it out I chewed most of the center of a target out at 15 yards and put a couple of rounds through the middle at 20 yards with some of the shots hitting extremities. I need better sights and I'm going to try this trigger stop mod that I found to increase my recovery with the gun. I've not shot an 82, so I can't comment on it, but I've found that the cz-52 is pretty accurate out of the box, the only drawback being the somewhat heavy trigger.

I got to get me one of them. It's just something about a bottlenecked pistol cartrige and a huge muzzle flash.

If you go to Makarov.com, they have a CZ52 section. They offer a kit for the 52 that includes a hardened firing pin, springs, etc. The "trigger improvment" kit takes a lot of the pull out of the trigger and makes it nice and crisp. My son compaires the reqorked 52 trigger to his new Springfield Champion Operator. NOTE: the trigger kit removes the firing pin block. The trigger safety and the decocker still work. I highly recommend this kit. Also installed the heaviest recoil spring they offered. Works fine with surplus, S&B commercial and handloads.
