BFRANKlin They are Polygonal rifled, at first glance they do look smoothbore.
AIM Surplus advises this at there web site. I've read the 82 & 83 are basicly the same gun though the 83 comes in other calibers.
You want ever regret buying one if you do...A.H

What brand and grain ammo did you buy ? Let me know how SHE shoots...A.H

Snuffy I agree the magazines are a bitzh to load, I pretended I didn't know how and had my son load them. LMAO...A.H

Hi, AH, I got the ammo from AIM also, I haven't been to the range yet, though. It's too D*** hot right now. I have to be careful cause I've got some breathing problems and when the weather gets like this I have to take it easy. I may find an indoor range somewhere that has good AC.
The ammo is Silver Bear 9mm Makarov(9x18mm)
94grain bimetal HP zinc Plated case. Made in Russia.
I don't know how it's going to do on the range but will keep you posted when I do go pop some caps.

I just got one of these CZ-82's delivered from Aim yesterday. It is most definitely not in new unissued condition. There is holster wear all over the pistol. The left grip is either deeply scratched or cracked. There are scratches on the right grip. The paint is mostly missing from the sights. The magazines won't eject if I use the left side release button. They do eject if I use the right side button.
All in all, I am not a happy camper.
I'm hoping that shooting this will bring a smile back to my face. However, right now I doubt it. I have never owned a handgun in this light a caliber. I figured that since these guns were in such a great condition I wouldn't have any problem getting my $$ back if I wasn't happy with the caliber. I think I figured wrong.
Sorry to be such a downer here. I am just very disappointed.

I just contacted AIM about purchasing a CZ 82. They said they have only Ex condition pistols in original and the painted finish. Sounds to me like you got a bad one. Centerfire has a special now with free shipping on the 82 but theres are good to very good condition. I'm on the fence about which company to order from.

I just talked to Chris in Customer Service at AIM. She told me to just return the pistol for exchange, and she told me she was sorry for my receiving this one. She will make sure the new one will be in excellent condition.
These are great people to do business with.

I'm really considering getting one of these. I'd like to get a semi auto handgun, but I don't have the money at the moment to get a really high end one. This would fit the bill nicely I think...

Cool loading CZ 82 clips

AH
Go to Midway and get yourself a HKS Model 380 speed loader and loading your CZ 82 mags will be a snap, you can't beat it for $ 10.00.

Mastiff,
Did you ask them to hand-pick the gun for you? What may have happened was that the person picking & packing didn't take the time to look very close. It was worth the $10 to me for insurance.Plus if you're not satified, it gives you more ammunition to complain about it.
If I get another I'll sure add hand-picking.

I wouldn't waste the money on a handpick from AIM .They are all supposed to be Ex condition . A bad one just slipped through. If they were good or very good a handpick may be in order

ArkansasHunter, Be careful who you are telling that to . Your Curio and Relics license is for you to collect firearms not to buy for someone else. Thats called a straw pruchase

Freedom Man I'm one step ahead of you I looked at some Hornady today on the net.
I bought 2 box'es of Winchester and 1 box of Federal that was 22.95 a dox of 50!!!!
And I went and shot 30 rounds of it and it was sorry as far as pattern but functioned perfectly...The Winchester cost me 15.95 a box and is 100% better in my CZ than the Federal...The Gun shops all use the same supplier which is in Shreveport LA. and there out of the Hornady. I've got plenty of Ammo til they get some Hornaday in.
Thanks A.H

Hum, I am still thinking about buying a CZ82. I have mixed feelings about it. I have a PA-63. It's not a really great gun by any means. I have ordered some parts to make it all better though. I want to get something in 9mm Luger though. I have a hard time finding quality 9x18 ammo where I live. I had to order some CCI Blazer. I will say this about that ammo though. It shoots great in my PA-63 compared to the Wolf Military Classic crap. It's still not all that good though but it's the gun. I am goign to replace the recoil spring and firing pin spring next. Does anybody know anything about the Radom P-64? I was looking at one of those but it appears to be very much like the PA-63. Any thoughts? Thanks, GA

GoodAim You want be disapointed if you get one But don't expect them to be quote Super Accurate...mine will group in a 5" circle at 21 feet which I was really expecting better.
Another friend I talked to Saturday thats a concealed carry instructor said that was D@m good !
I still have the 2nd one for my friend who's kid will come pick it up sometime next week for him
I think in a few minutes I'll drive to where I do most of my hunting and shoot his to see how accurate that one is.

OH yeah last night i was looking (compareing them) and the end of the 2nd pistols barrel is more square meaning it looks like it been recrowned flat.
The end of the barrel on mine has a little taper to it and if you look hard enough you can see the polygonal rifleing in mine too.
Because maybe these guns looked so nice the Importer must of really went over these guns because the ends of the barrels are different and there super clean !
mine is an 1988 model and the one I got for the friend is an 1989 model they don't look used...A.H
