| Registered User | CZ 70 Re-stamped as CZ 50? Hi, Folks, I'm new here. Several years ago, I bought a "CZ 50" from Southern Ohio Guns. I noticed that the model and serial number were on the inside of the frame (grip, where your fingers hold it.) What looked odd was the 5 in mod. CZ 50. It was huge! Bigger then the other characters. Under magnification, I can just make out a 7 under it. The grip has the deep inward cut for thumb web that I've seen pictured for CZ 70 and same grip panels as 70. But the hammer in not rounded with a hole as CZ 70 pictures, but long and pointed like a CZ 50 I saw pictured. Could this be a CZ 70 with a CZ 50 hammer? Why would that be and how do I tell for sure? I LOVE how accurate it is. |

| Senior Member | Rafferty; welcome to the site. The CZ 50's were at one time rearsenaled/reworked along with CZ 70's. Some, as in the case of mine, were restamped as a CZ 70. The way you determine it is by the serial number. You may have a replacement part or you may have some rearsenal work. CZ 50 / VZ 50 | Guns Lot I was fortunate to get a very early model CZ 50, mine is in the 644XXX, however it was reworked as a CZ 70.
