Know lots of folks like that. Some collectors, some strictly target shooters/competition shooters. Nothing wrong with it.

And some people use guns to hunt, and some people hunt to use guns. I'm one of the latter. Around here hunting is such a big thing that a lot of people who aren't into guns at all, use them once a year for deer hunting. But I do know some don't care for it and there ain't anything wrong with that.

A lot of CA guys are in the same boat, most have shot at doves or maybe ducks, but not as much deer/pig.

I would not hunt when I frist got back from Nam and out of the service. I told my Dad when he asked me to go I said I just don't want to hunt right now as I had hunted the most dangerous game "Man". Then the next year I said. This is what I need and I'v been hunting sense. I use a 357 mag., 30x30, and now I'v added a MINI 14 RANCH 223. I use thies as I have to work the hunt and for my shot.

I don't know any one who owns guns and does not hunt. maybe it is because all I know are farmers of one sort or other. Most of us love spotlighting for foxes, rabbits and cats. Some get a chance to shoot goats pigs and deer.

I love my guns but it would truly break my heart if I couldn't hunt with them. My grandson and I are going pig hunting tonight.

Will the .223 pierce the body armor some people on here think deer wear?

Not too well. Michael didn't go so I went with a buddy. The only things that died that night were a liter bottle of R&R Reserve and a bunch of brain cells.
We didn't even see a coon or a rabbit to shoot, so we went back to the trailer, drank, and told lies until 0400.
