Yep tommy, fighting the Social Security Administration for disability is a" whole nother story". Got mine started after being out of work for almost 2 years. Had a little money saved before all this started, but it went pretty quick.Been paying into SS since 1966, and they still want to make you "jump through the hoops" and play their little games. So much for our government idea of "Social Security"

Hey there Tommy, Sorry to go digging up old threads from years ago, but i noticed you mentioned the cage you have in your spine.

I have one of them myself, I had a bike accident 2 years ago 3-3-05. I had a loaded semi trailer pull out in front of me on my way to work and i went under the last wheel of the trailer. I had a burst fracture of L3, broke my left leg in 4 places- 2 in my tibia (1 of which was a compound fracture) and 2 places in fibula. and smashed my right ankle joint and heel.

They removed 90% of my L3 and put a steel cage in where it used to be, then screwed a steel bracket from L2 - L4. Put a Steel rod from my knee to my ankle (inside the tibia) and rebuilt my right foot from my hip and threw in a few screws for good luck.

Ive since built myself back up to full health (well as good as ill get anyway) when it comes to hunting i can do most things still, i push through a lot of pain to do it because i love it so much. Big days of walking up the side of mountains are mostly out of the question, although i have done it but payed the price over the next week or 2. Bending over feild dressing is an experience and a half.

But as you would know you learn new ways of doing things, not just when it comes to hunting but life in general.

Anyway thats enough of me rambling on for now, see ya around the boards.

yea the bad thing about the neck area is the headaches. the pain is one thing but man them headaches can run you into the ground .i find when your hurtin just try not to think about it and it seems to help plus the pain killers help too. but i find i take the pain killer mainly for the headaches now .i get around pretty good i have my hpx set up so i really don't have to do any manual labor for useing it so i can get to the woods and do what i want .my newset hobby is the recycling and using all the trash i get out of the dump to fix up my yard it keeps me going. i'm glad you got this thread going again.
