My first EBR AR was a DPMS. At the time, I felt it was the best AR for the money. So far I feel like I was right.

Seriously, a time is on the way where all brick layers will not be able to find brick and mortar.

Lay away while it is still available.

This is my second DPMS (other one is .223) I think the larger round will be an advantage to my gun cabinet.

I've never had a burning desire to own one, but I needed a good foul weather deer gun, so I got a DPMS lower and I've got a 6.8 SPC upper on the way. I own 3 other semi-auto, magazine fed rifles, none of which are ARs. This is my first and last one. I'm thinking if I can find a wood stock and grip that don't cost as much as the rest of the rifle, I may get it. I may get another upper or two, one in 9mm and another in 30 AR, but that's it. No more. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent. I will NOT be dragged down this hole. No sirree Bob. All I need is this one lower, I can get other parts and still only have one rifle. I have no need for another AR.

My prediction for jrswanson1: You will own 3-5 ARs from various manufacturers by this time next year. You are exhibiting the very early stages of Black Rifle Disease. Full blown BRD is impossible to cure, but the symptoms can be treated with EBRs.

Well, you're wrong. It took a month for 3. I got a DPMS upper for that DPMS lower last Friday. DPMS really needs to check their boxes and what's in them before shipping. Why? The upper I got is chambered for 6.8 SPC. But the box was marked .223! I hope some poor schmuck didn't end up with a wimpy .223 when he was expecting a 6.8

Anyway, now I have a third upper coming in, and I have one stripped and one semi-stripped lower in hand, and a bunch of stuff coming in. I think all three will be assembled within two weeks.

BTW, the now complete DPMS rifle I have is pretty sweet. Thanks!

I bought a DPMS after drooling over my dad's when I'd be cycling a bolt on my 700 and he'd stay shooting... and just as accurate.

I was stationed in St. Cloud, MN and heard that Mr. Luth and the gang at DPMS where very friendly to Active Duty. The rumors were true. While walking in the main factory in St. Cloud wasn't necessarily correct, they were extremely friendly and helped me build an amazing AR-15 for a great price.

I added several upgrades to the rifle before it was ever in my hands. I added the adjustably Timney trigger, Cryo fluted bull 24", floated and vented picatinny quad-rail, and lead stock weight. Last year I broke down and put a Zeiss 50mm scope w/ Zapid Z reticle. Greatest upgrade to date.

My DPMS was my First AR. I was not very familiar with them, but wanted one. My friend bought one that was all tricked out with custom features (cryo bull barrel, titanium bolt and bolt carrier, match two stage trigger, free floated barrel, lead weighted A2 stock, etc.). It was super accurate.

I got mine (just like his) in 1999. I have bought multiple ARs since then, and the DPMS Panther is still the most accurate .223/5.56 NATO AR I own.

The only AR I like better is my Armalite AR 10.
