I'm waiting for that certain person to say you are all full of crap shooting sub MOA with your AR10 type weapons. We all know he is going to, it's just a matter of when. LOL

As a past owner of an original AR10, I'll believe the sub MOA reports when I hear them. (My original was never sub moa but it was very accurate, on a par with a standard M14 but not as heavy)

I've had to grind away some of the top part of the handle on the side where the tac latch touches the charging handle, so it'd work properly.

Before buying, make sure they have the magazine issue worked out. Mine (and a bunch of others) had a deal where the rounds would get pinned on the way to the chamber and the bolt would ride about half way up and bend the round (ruining it). Other than that, it seems like an OK weapon. I put a night scope on mine, so accuracy and usage are a whole new ballgame now.

Accurate

I shoot only surplus, LC, Norma, etc. At about 300 yards a small tomato is juice. I'm a plinker only, and the only time I used a target was to sight in the scope. About 1/2" or slightly larger. I've never had any problem with surplus ammo feeding. A really fun gun. I use an IOR Valdada 3-10 IR scope. The skeleton stock is just a milled out standard stock, cheap, so I traded out for an ACE fixed stock.

I shoot surplus ammo in mine all day. Not a single problem with it. Of course accuracy is off as surplus ammo is more than likely bulk machine gun ammo and not meant for pin point accuracy lol. I get about 3" groups at 100 yards with it, about 4" at 200 yards.

I am looking to improve this greatly when I get my reloading equipment set up and can start using my 168 grain bthp .

I still want a DPMS 308 my only complaint is that there is no provision to mount a bayonet(I know they are worthless on a rifle unless civil war breaks out but who knows anything is possible)

LR308

I ordered an LR308 from the old owners a couple of years ago. I was intrigued that I could order it the way I wanted. A4 receiver, target trigger, picky gas block, Ace stock, cryo'd barrel, M60 type flash hider, tac latch, fluted barrel, etc. I mounted an IOR Valdada 3-9 IR scope. Fantastic rifle, incredible scope that I got before people realized how good they were and the price skyrocketed. I shoot only surplus ammo in it, mostly LC. I'm a plinker, not a target shooter or hunter. I shoot in the desert here, so am limited to 35 to 45 miles of open ground. I love the rifle.

I'm in Cuba right now, but the wife is putting money back for me to get a gun when I get home. I've fired one of the LR308, butI don't remember which model. It was the fixed stock, 24" fluted stainless barrel. Anyway, I was very impressed with its accuracy and I still want a 7.62 carbine. Thank God for Eugene Stoner, because with the push of two pins, I can have both. My plan is to get the AP4 as well as the 24" fluted stainless upper receiver. I'll mount my Aimpoint on the Carbine upper and a good scope on the rifle upper as well as a smaller J point-type sight on an offset mount. This will allow close up shots for coyote hunting or three gun competitions. I really can't wait.
