| Scoping a Number 4 I have a Long Branch No. 4 Enfield that someone cut the front handguard off of and numbers don't match. Not concerned about ruining a good historical rifle with a scope. That said I'm looking at scoping it without paying more for mounts than the scope. I found a decent deal in which an ATI scope mount comes with a 4X scope. Not concerned with the scope so much as the mount. Will it hold? Is it worth the money (less than $50 US)? Whatever you can tell me about this mount or a better one that won't break the bank would be appreciated. |

| The B-Square Military Mount for the No.4 is very solid. I had one on a No.4 a few years back. It bolts on at the rear using the mounting area of the peep sight. As I recall, the front left bolted on using a longer ejector screw. The thing worked well, and was my deer rifle for a time. I have the "No Gunsmithing" mount for the No.1 now, but it isn't nearly as solid.

| Well, I went ahead and bought the new mount, and finally got a good enough look to see how it worked. It replaces the safety screw and the ejector screw to mount the scope on the left. I don't know for sure, but I think it may replace the rear sight as well on the right side. If nothing else, I'll scrap the mount and keep the scope. |

I put one on a '16 RSAF Enfield and had to make a clamp which fits on the inside. This worked out pretty good...only cursed and swore a couple times .. and it's quite solid now ![]() ![]() ![]()

| had a b square mount a few years ago and it run me about $50 at that time. it used a longer ejector screw and a longer mounting pin on the rear sight. it was very solid. wish I still had it now ( rear sight had to be removed to install the mount) |
