No 4 mk1 Fazakerly (FTR'd 49), No 4 mk1 Savage and a No1 mk III Lithgow.
Hey Timberlord, I like your No 4(T) wannabe, gives me another option for my "bubba" Savage.

I have 9 303's No4 Mk1: 1 FAZ, 1 BSA, 1 Maltby, 1 Longbranch, 1 Savage
A friend of mine gave me a "Tanker Carbine" ( is what the store told him) a Bubba'd #4 that the barrel was shortened and furniture was shortened and reglued. It was so ugly, it was cute, but I put the furniture from a No5 on it. makes a good deer rifle. 1 No5, 1 No1 Mk III and a Santa Fe jungle carbine made from a No1 Mk III. I'm looking for a Lithgow and a Ishapore. I always see sporterized 303's that want to follow me home, most are very affordable too.

Finally took a pic of mine. Had an aftermarket stock on it when i bought it. But back when i bought it i didnt know the difference from one make to another. I just wanted something to shoot so my dad said this was the same kind that he started off with. It has served my well so far.

I have but one lonely Enfield No. 5 Jungle Carbine. Wish I had more though. Looking at a Savage that seems to be a good price. But the dang shop also has a Swiss K31 for a great price and a Mauser that looks great and "Oh Gosh, look at that Mosin Ex sniper over there!"

Just the lone .308 Ishapore Enfield 2A 1967 ventage. Too bad I didn't jump on the ones that were in the Sears catalogs when I was a youngster or even in the back my American Rifleman magazines.

I got a no4 mk1 dated 1943 excellent condition and a no5 Jungle carbine date not known but the problem is someone tore the safety off so the only safety I got is the half click in pulling the bolt back. Both are excellent shooters and I never wanna sell them.

My first is a 1944 British made Model 4 Mark 1. It's a mis-match with most of the finish gone, but it is really accurate and probably one of the most pleasurable bolt actions in my collection to shoot. I can't wait to shoot the new one!!!

PS Love what you've done to the place while I was away!!! Nice job!!!
WHere exactly do you find the numbers to match? the only numbers I could find were the model number on the receiver and the part where the butt stock meets the receiver. Where else do I look?

Just one.........and it's brand new to me:

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...X/enfield4.jpg

Not an authentic production model, being a Century Arms No. 4 conversion to "Carbine-like," but good enough for me. I just gave $195 for it and am pleased to get what looks to be a very straight little shooter for that kind of money.

I'm not sure what I'm utlimately going to do with it though. At first, I am just going to spend some time shooting it as-is and seeing how it functions. If all goes well, I will then look at scopes but when I do I'll probably have to change the stock to accomodate the elevated line of sight. But, I'm not going to make any permanent or irreversible changes to the rifle from it's current state.
