Adjusting sight

I can drive tacks with my old beauty at closer range, but can't quite figure out how to set my rear sight. How much do I raise it , I don't understand the numbers on the side of the adjustable peep hole.

Taras, it sounds like you have a "micrometer" type rear sight, the numbers are ranged in Meters. (2=200 meters and so on)

I crank mine all the way back so that the isght lies flat (basically). It seems that I'm dead on at 100 yards like that.....
