Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1???? Ok, so dad picked up an enfield a few weeks ago for 85 dollars. No. 4 Mk. 1. He has yet to shoot it, i just did yesterday and loved it. Just wondering if he got a deal, and any history behind these guns. I must say i love those sites on that thing, they sure are great. Thanks for any info.

Sounds like a good deal for only $85 that's what they cost when they were new! You'll need to figure out the manufacturer, check the numbers and see if anything matches, take some pictures and post them etc.

What's the rifle look like? Full front and rear handguards, or is it (shudder) Sporterized? (pics?) Sporters are pretty common and cheap, if you have an original, unaltered #4 and you got it for that price, then you stole it.
