| Another new Enfiled Owner I just wanted to say hello since as of this afternoon I am the new owner of a No. 4 MK I. So far I have annoyed the Mosin Nagant guys with my questions and comments and they have all been more then gracious to share their wealth of knowledge with me. Since I am also an Enfield owner now you might have the bad luck of hearing from me on this forum as well. Sorry! I am very(!) excited about my new acquisition and after I perform a little CPR on my new bride I am looking forward to taking her out for a trial. I apologize in advance for potentially asking stupid questions. |

| ingous, I own both Mosins and Enfields so I check both forums. On the Mosin side you said you wanted a bolt tool. If you still need one here's a link. SMLE Firing Pin Disassembly Tool*|*e-GunParts.com I am ordering one also. Congrats on the Enfield. Good choice. |

| I ordered some Pakistani stuff from the sportsmansguide and its not bad. Still pretty cheap. I was given some a while back too, finally shot it all up so I had to get more. I was impressed initially at how well it shot out of my gun, with not a lot of click-bangs, so I went back for more. I have a few click-bangs here and there, but it really does shoot well out of my No4 Mk1/3. I guess it never hurts to try some out in your own gun so you can judge for yourself too. But I think it just is random. Maybe some is good, maybe there is some thats not so good. But for those that don't like it and don't buy it, more for me when red dawn happens xD But my question, is since its non-reloadable stuff, what do you guys do with the brass? |

| Thanks for all of your input. WW2Junkie, thanks for the link, order has been placed. I did some serious cleaning today and I noticed that the barrel has some play between the upper hand guard and the stock. Is that normal? I also noticed that the front site moved a little in the dovel tail. What would be the proper way to fix it? Tack it with a center punch? Last edited by ingous; 06-01-2008 at 12:05 AM. | Yes, I do believe that is normal. I read somewhere, that they were made with a partially floating barrel. But mine does the same. If you have it all put together, and wiggle from the muzzle, it will move a little. I got a friend with a Mk4 No.2 and his does the same. |

| Thanks, Iron Colonel, good to know. How do I go about fixing my front sight so? As I mentioned it moves within the dove tail slot and I have to fix it somehow. Any insights? If it was one of my Mosins I would take a center punch and tap it so it stays. |

If it is really loose, you can try a pair of needle nose pliers, but I wouldn't recommend it as it could seriously tear up the screw and make it unusable. Besides if you did use a pair of needle nose, you wouldn't be able to get it tight enough, your pliers would keep slipping off thus damaging the screw as before, and with the screw not being as tight, you run the risk of the sight moving around on you as it is now... | Good info, thanks! I didn't notice the loose front sight in the store because it was caked in Cosmoline. Only when I started cleaning I noticed how loose it was. Right now I am waiting for the special tool to disassemble the bolt. There appears to be alot of junk inside. |
