Need help please....

I have recently acquired a 1924 Enfield ShtLE V. Im having difficulty finding much out about my new find. It's been sporterized and had a very thick coat of poly put on the wood. And the sights are the topic of discussion. The rear sight is a flip up that goes to 1400m i believe, and looking at the sight from the side it is almost triangular shaped. Is this an after market add on? I'll add pic's ass soon as i can. Thanks for any help.
