| Seen Service?
Anyone else have a Lee-Enfeild that saw action? I just inherited my grandfathers Lee that fought in Holland. Good condition too.

I have a 1917 MkIII that was converted to a .410 slug gun and reconverted back to .303. I can only imagine what my poor baby has seen or done. I do know that it has taken down whitetail bucks on several occasions.

I have an Enfield No.I MkIII dated 1915, all matching numbers, magazine cutoff, everything to indicate it went to the trenches in WWI. It does not have a butt disc, which is to my chagrin because I want to know what outfit it served with and where it saw action. A local gunshop owner said he thought it may have been Australian issued, and they had no butt discs but he was probably pulling that out of his A@#.

Well... The butt discs where omitted early WW1 . The captured discs were giving info to the enemy . Stamps like " MA " or " OA " or " LITHGOW " will indicate Austrailian . In which case , if the rifle seen action , it may have been at Gallipoli . That was a helluva battle .
