No.4 Mk.1 Range Report...Finally.

Got her to the range along with my New England Westinghouse last week. Had a decent 25 yd pring with Pakistani POF. Then moved it back to 100 yds. This target is from 100 yds, iron sights. The flier high and left was my buddy, who accidentally shot at this target with my MN rifle. I only shot 10 out of my Enfield at this target, I think. There is one rogue bullet hole from somewhere... But I was pretty happy with the grouping. A little low and right, but it grouped pretty well.

Well it's about time LOL.
Looks pretty good. Next time write your friends name on his target so he doesn't do that again. I'm glad you're happy with it.

Well, I had them set up side by side, and told him what to shoot at, but whatever. It didn't screw stuff up. But I'd like to get it back soon too and try it out again. See if I can't tighten those groups up a little.

Yes, a 10 barrel Enfield. And the other two are from my double barreled Mosin.

what's the recoil like on a 10 barreled Enfield? Anything like a 88 magnum?

Nice shooting. How did the POF ammo work out for you?

excuse my stupid question, I am too lazy to look it up.... What does POF mean exactly ?
I can't wait to go shoot mine... as soon as I have it checked by a gunsmith, find some cheaper ammos and find some time for that... (talk about it next year I guess )

How do you aim with the iron sights ? anybody has a site with info ?
(I don;t mean to hijack the thread, so PM will be welcome)

Stephan -
POF - Pakistan Ordinance Factory also taken to mean "Percentage Of Failures" (click, bang stuff - not recommended. Very dirty as well and you'll need to boil out your rifle every time).

Use of sights - are you talking about a No1 or a No4 ?

Iron C:

Pardon this really dumb question, but as a I seldom, if ever shoot at any paper (two dimensional) targets, how wide is the red zone, or about what is the height of the entire target?

Do most paper targets published on Internet bulletin boards have a width of about 24"?
Frankly, as the many months go by, I learn very little shooting alone-with a few exceptions-at bricks etc by a tiny swamp or on a small, muddy (soon to be dry) steep river bank.

I count 13 holes? lol One hole is kind of hard to see. But it's in the red just outside the outer circle on the lower right. But yea, I count 13. So your buddy shot more then one. lol

Maybe it's a tear?

Oh and, not bad shooting at 100yds. with iron sights and an old rifle.

Looking at the above target I'm guessing that the small squares are 1", judging by the size of the bullet holes. (assuming it is a 303 hole which is actually .311").

Depending on the rifle I'm using, I'll use a 12" circlular target for the No1, No4 and No5 and a 2" diameter circular target for the scoped Enforcers
