No Tap Scope Mounts

Anyone have any experience for no-tap scope mounts for a No 1 Mk3* enfield? They junk or can they hold a zero?

I have a B-Square mount.
There were some issues at first because of a missing clamp and really cheesy instructions but I got it figured out.
This type of mount is shaped more like aluminum angle iron with a rail.
It holds fine but I wouldn't put a heavy scope on it.

Sorry, but I had the laugh. I have always referred to B-Square as B-Screwed. I do have some B-Scr..Square mounts and they are a good mount, a bit pricey some times.

Hello,

I have had nothing but trouble with the b-square mounts I had them on my 2 No4 SMLE's (sporters) . Never held zero or anything close. The so called rail would actually flex while firing due to recoil. Have switched to the XS scout rails on the two No4's . Very drastic as they are not coming off but they are very good mounts.

Go with a no tap mount that is made out of steel.

Cheers

Its a good solid mount. Holds zero fine. May want to thread lock it just to be safe.

Warning - I wonder if you (the general "you") should consider disassembling your rifle as much as possible and taking the fore-wood (NOT the stock!!!) off before you bang a tight fitting ATI mount into place.

I have cracks in my forewood leading from the magazine towards the muzzle, the forewood is sliding 3-4mm muzzlewards whenever the rifle is picked up, and I didn't notice that before I tapped the thing in. There are a few bits that fell off of the forewood before I did it, i.e. last time I went shooting, so it MIGHT have been a pre-existing problem, but that's not to say I didn't make it worse.

Am currently waiting for local gunsmith to have a spot open to fix things (but was thinking of getting him to have a general look-over anyway, as I suspected things were not all that flash with the furniture even before this happened.)

Yes, I know - I should probably have known to do this... but what's done is done and now it must be fixed.

YMMV and I'd love to hear about your advice/experiences, even if it's too late!!!

I have an Eddystone (Model of 1917) "American Enfield" that I would like to scope. It's got the rear peep but the ears were machined off long ago. Has anyone used a B-Square mount on this type of setup?
