Harrisburg Gun Show

I attended the Harrisburg gun show this past sunday (3/18) and was rather disappointed with the quality of military surplus guns there. Maybe the snow storm played a part in keeping some of the vendors from attending. Anyway I was looking for a nice mosin or enfield to add to the collection but most were pretty beat up. mis-match part numbers and so on. Only saw 1 mosin m38, again not in the best of shape. There were some nice guns there but for the most part it was lacking. Just my 2 cents.

This is becoming a common theme at guns shows, IMHO, most arn't even worth the price of admission anymore

I grabbed up my first Mosin Dragoon era 91/30 for $95 last week at a show here in Montgomery, Alabama. All accessories included plus he threw in a box of ammo. Its got all matching numbers and the stock's in good shape except for one good ding. I almost overlooked it but caught my eye at the the last moment. I'm pretty lucky down here, my opinion is not too many buyers have caught onto the military surplus bug down this way. The shows tend to be hit or miss but when i've found something I always walked away with a good deal.

I just stopped at the Cabelas in Hamburg, Pa. and they are getting nuts on their mil-surps! How about a 1917 Eddystone with dings all over the end of the barrel and the front sight ears bent so bad they were almost touching for $649.95? Or a Romanian M-44 in an ATI plastic stock with no bayo and mis-matched numbers for $179.95? Romanian .22 trainers that have been selling for around $50 in Shotgun News were $150 up to $200 and Mausers were ranging anywhere from $179.95 up to $495.00. The only reasonable deal that I saw was a Jap Arisaka with "mum" intact for $100 but it had been bubba'ed with a cut-down forend and the anti-aircraft wings missing from the rear sight.
