Exclamation an eye opener!

at the range today i watched a ccw class and the instructor had a guy that was pretty darn fast at drawing his weapon get ready to draw and had another guy behind the shooter facing the other way with a rock in his hand.
when the instructor said go he had the drawer pull his weapon and get it up in a firing position and the other guy start running.
he said stop when the man had his gun up ready to aim and the runner dropped the rock.
in the time it took for that man to draw his weapon a middle aged man was able to cover 30 feet!
the lesson?
dont let an adversary get too close!
in real life the guy with the gun would be struggling for control of the weapon with his opponent.
i was pretty suprised.

Good observation. I've practiced what is called the 21 foot drill on a regular basis. Good to know:

Edged Weapon Defense: Is or was the 21-foot rule valid? (Part 1)

He needs to work on his "Quick Draw" as it is mighty slow...
I have drawn, fired and reholstered in 6/10ths of a second...using a single action Ruger !

To bad there isn't a video of that to see it demonstrated. Or is there and I missed it?
