Recently, picked up a Remington Model 31 12 gauge pump shotgun for $125. I needed a HD gun and after seeing a 20 gauge break single priced at $90 I knew I wouldn't see another 12g pump at that price. It has a 28' barrel with a factory Polychoke installed making it a very long gun. I want to make it a bit more tactical with a ATI stock. Rifle Stocks and other Gunstocks for AK, AR, SKS and more - Advanced Technology International USA I emailed ATI and they were unable to tell me if their Model 870 stocks would fit a Model 31. Anyone know if this will work, are the stocks on the 870 the same arrangement as the Model 31?

About to Send an older Side by Side Shotgun with no serial number Across Stateline...

The Buyer did send me a copy of his current driver's license, and a copy of his FFL dealer's valid license along with a Payment by Money Order.

The payment is all good since its a US Postal Money Order.

But the FFL dealer Did Not Hand Sign the Copy of his FFL license in Ink, which I did clearly ask for,

Is that really necessary to be done ???

I did verify the FFL license on the ATF web site and its all good, valid and up to date, but is also registered to a PO Box Address.

Am I totally 100% safe to send it to the address of the FFL holder's PO Box Address ?,

even though he did not hand sign it in Ink and its also registered to a PO Box ?

Who will sign for it at the PO Box ?

as I only want to send it with signature delivery confirmation just to be safe on my end...

And is it an absolute must for the Copy of his license to be Hand Signed in Ink as I see others requesting same for a firearm o be sent across stateline,

even though it is all Valid and Up to Date ???

Can anyone help me with these questions please...

I want this transaction to be 100% perfectly legit and to be safe.

Is it ok to send ?

Thank you so much...

Last weekend I had several people come out to shoot. Everyone shooting had at least 20+ years of shooting. I was surprised at a debate we all had and wondered what kind of input all of you have on this subject. I know what my argument was and the position I still hold, but wonder what you guys have to say. Keep in mind that with my 25 years of shooting experience I was the young guy of the group and the discussion had a college professor and several "professional" guys present. I was surprised at how split the group was on such a what I thought was a simple subject.

Question:

When shooting slugs with a shotgun what slugs can you shoot through what barrels and what cannot be shot through which barrels. Exclude the obvious bird shot chokes and barrels.

With a rifled barrel you should shoot only rifled slugs.

-OR-

With a rifled barrel you should not shoot rifled slug.

I am curious to how you guys respond to these two statements as we had quite a heated debate and I must admit the opposing view to mine actually made a pretty good case. Also feel free to elaborate LOL I would like some more "ammo" the next time we all shoot!

about a week ago i took my girlfriend and her little brother to the range.
id brought a bunch of stuff, including my mossy .410 and some clays.
i thaught we could spread them out and shoot the clays with the .22 and .410, but they really wanted me to throw them for them. they actualy did pratty well. on the way home i tried to convince her that she would have more fun shooting a shotgun that was built for someone of her size,
and of a more reasonable gauge for clays. she seemed receptive.
well, today we went to gander, and she picked out a gun. a mossberg 20 gauge, it was either a youth or a bantam, or some such thing. 22 inch barrel. like 230 out the door, wich i felt was a good deal, especialy for gander. anyways we just got back from the range, and she shot very well.
i was impressed. im so lucky haveing a lady i can shoot with. maybe
soon my daughter will start showwing some real interest.
