I found five rounds of disgusting old .303 British, Prvi manufacture, Not sure of the date. Brass cased, unsure of primer, probably Berdan. Sporting round, soft point. Headstamped PPU in Cyrillic, looks like NNY if you were to use Latin characters.

I also found two rounds of .44 Magnum in similar condition, HP. The exposed lead at the tip was a little marred, but I did polish the lead a bit heavier, and cleaned it up to be mostly uniform.

Any way. Disgusting covered in grime, dark and nasty. Probably unsafe ot fire in that condition just due to dimensions.

So, I grabbed some 00 steel wool and lightly polished the whole thing, getting the grime off. I really didn't take off hardly any metal, just very very light polishing marks on the case. More grime removal than metal polishing. Though, a very small amount of metal could make a huge difference when it comes to firearms.

My question is, would the round be safe to fire, or does it now go on the shelf to look pretty?

Does anyone know of any manufactures that make .410 steel or non toxic shot shells. I hunt on a wildlife refuge and and would like to occasionally use my little .410 O/U for a change so far I have had little luck with the larger manufacturers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there certain types of metal that are or certain types of ammo that are? I'm looking at possibly buying a Mosin Nagant and the cheapest ammo (I'm in college, so I have to look for the cheapest, no questions asked) is surplus from various countries. How can i know if it is corrosive or not?

Where does everybody buy ammo if you buy online??? I would like everything...all the places you have bought from, what was your favorite/the best and reasons why you did or didnt like those sites. last time (and the only time i have ever) bought online was from cabela's and i had a $100 dollar gift certificate, so i only had to fork out about $20...if i hadn't had that certificate the prices after shipping and taxes would have not been worth the hassle, so i'm kinda shopping for a better (cheaper) place to buy ammo online...what do you all have to say??? thanks in advance!!!

Now Ive never heard that terminology. Would that be the same as a Speer TNT bullet or a Sierra Blitz?
