I initially removed this but scratched the heck outta it when I first attempted to use my AR15 tool, then broke out the regular pliers for even more dmg... As you can... As you can expect, I'm going to need to replace this piece, but before I do so, is there a specific tool that Mossberg sells? I've also searched under foreend pliers, but haven't turned up much. Any other ideas?

I surfed this forum before I joined to get some information on the ATR. I now have have just replaced an old 30-30 with a new 308. The recoil pad on the .308 is really thin. There are some pics of older ATR's with "nice" pads. :33:
I purchased the walnut stock and the pad is less than 3/16" from stock to end of pad. Does anyone have an aftermarket pad? (limbsaver or such) We took a wrap around pac and the rifle is extremely fun and accurate to shoot but without the pac pad we were flinching.:(

Any suggestion on a model number or brand for a pad would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe part of the trigger itself ??? I just need to know if anyone out there might have an exploded view of the trigger assembly for the 500A that they might be willing to share.

Spring hunting season is only a few months away. So...I recently bought this Mossberg 500 A 12 Ga for $200 to use during my next opportunity to hunt turkeys.

I'm looking forward to trying out this slightly used gun which is about five years old. It holds both 2 3/4" & 3" shells.

Had only 10 bullets. 1 bullet went into 25yd target to see if on paper, then moved over to 50yd range and put up new target. First bullet went into #8 ring at the 12 o'clock area, followed by getting into #9 ring then, #10 ring, then BULLSEYE, which is just a little larger than a dime. Last 4 shots will speak for themself. 30-06 using 150gr. Cor-Loc ammo with Nikon 3-9x40 Buckmaster scope and Leupold bases and rings.
How about some other ATR targets from members to prove that these Mossbergs will hold their own against rifles costing 5 times more.

And the ATI stock but mostly cuz he didnt put the spacer on so now its next to impossible to get a check weld. Most 500 parts will work on it correct? The forend assembly(?) is a different one correct? Besides a new barrel what can i do to get rid of the bead sights and get some ghost ring ones? Im rather new to shot guns so the new barrel thing is alil off putting as idk what to look for.
