Since then I have probably put around...oh...6-8 thousand rounds through it. I guess it is just something I have gotten used to, but whenever my dad shoots it he constantly complains about the trigger pull. It got me thinking, could I be more accurate if the trigger pull was better? Are there anyways to make it better?

Don't get me wrong, I love the gun, and I think that it performs well as is...but sometimes you just want a bit more, you know?
Here are some more recent targets-
I tried to get him to keep saving for an M&P, but he bought a brand new HP 9mm for $139.99 plus tax. This is his first semi-auto for him, but he has a couple of .38 revolvers.

Anything I should tell him to look for, quirks or possible issues? This is mostly just a shooting gun, not for carry.

Now to get together to shoot my M&P's against his Hi-Point. Might just make me stop making fun of them.

I thought mine used to be accurate, but have not shot it in a while. I really enjoy the new .45, but have lots of 9mm reloads so I got out the C9 and it was all over the board!! Close up it was OK, but from 15yds, there was no group, unlike the .45. Is it me? Thanks.

I was in my local gun store today looking primarily for some primers. I found that they have jacked the price of their powder by about a third and Winchester primers are 49.95 / thousand. Whew! I couldn't justify that. There will be another gun show next month, I'll check there. If they are high as well, I'll go to the internet again. I hate the hazmat charge, but can justify it now.

Anyway, since I couldn't get the primers, I looked at their other stuff. They had a serpa holster for 19 that they had formerly priced at 50, but it was for a Beretta 92.

I looked at the pistols and there in the case was a Hi-Point .45. They have had smaller calibers for a year, but this was the first I had seen a .45 in a loooonnnnggg time. I had traded mine last year on another, more expensive pistol, so I had lots of .45 reloading components as well as a few new boxes of ammo. I couldn't help myself, I bought one.

I took it home and after doing a chore that needed to be done, I reloaded 50 rounds of 230g round nose Raineer bullets over 4.6g of HP-38 powder and Winchester primers. I forgot that I did not have two #2 cartridge holders so I had to go through the press four times with my Lee dies.

It was cold and had been raining, but was now windy and cool. I went down in the field, set up a target and tried it out. Darn, it was accurate out of the box! I shot nearly 50 rounds and didn't make any adjustments. Got to love a .45 and you really need to love a Hi-Point!!

Dave                    :notworthy::notworthy:

LOL this may be well known...but ya can take a elastic shotgun shell butt carrier, and 2 or 3 HP995 mags will fit in it. Makes a handy addition to the carbine...2 extra mags right at your fingerprints! I used a older one that was stretched slightly...but the mag wedged right in the shell loop nice and snug. Y can only get 3 in it though...not one in each of the 5 loops...I have a mag in each end loop and one in the middle loop.

Mine looks about like this one...just under 6$ at Wal-Mart.
