Accuracy ? Ruger ultralight 257 Roberts

I have a Ruger 257 Roberts in the Ultralight Rifle. What kind of accuracy should I expect from it. What are the best hunting bullets for it? My friend Sbowers likes the 100 gr. Ballistic tips.

i love my .40 cal but i need advice on a few things. first, my safety switch is a little loose, but only when it is off safety n only the left side, but regardless how do i tighten it up?

2nd, i dont know what its called when you put your pistol in the cock back position without the clip in, but the middle silver piece(the barrel)is moveable. im not sure if it is sposed to be like that or if that is just also a tad loose.

last, the sides of the grip is plastic n how do i make sure it is screwed on properly?

what type of cleaning kit should i get for my ruger p94?

Ruger m77 hawkeye accuracy?

I really like the Ruger Hawkeye and everything about it but I've heard that the accuracy is a hit or miss. I was hoping too achieve 1 1/2" groups or less do you think this is possible with this rifle.

What kind of accuracy do you get with your new Ruger Hawkeyes and is this rifle worth buying.

1976 #1 Standard Worth More??

I stumbled into a pristine #1 in 30-06. The gun's a "Liberty Edition" with "MADE IN THE 200TH YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY." stamped on the barrel.

My books don't mention the Liberty Editions, and I was wondering if they're more collectable, or worth more than the other year rifles without this stamping?

Either way, I plan on shooting it, although I don't think this gun's seen much, if any use.. Since I think it's been fired, and I don't have the box or paperwork, I'm not going to put it in collector catagory, but instead take care of it but still use it.

My only complaint about the rifle is that it came with tall Ruger rings.. I'm going to see if I can find a set of lows or mediums to get a better cheek weld.. Sort of a stretch to the highs.

Ruger SR-556 Safety Selector

I saw a forum question on AR-15.com about the safety selector on the SR-556 rotates past the fire position. it can be fixed by replacing the selector.
Just checked mine and it does rotate past the fire position.

I don't think this makes the rifle dangerous, just be aware of it. I sent an e-mail to Ruger about the problem.

P89 to P95 Difference

What is the difference between the p89 and the P95?
I see some outward apperance differences, but is there any internal changes?
Are the P95's trully a superior gun to the older P89's.

I ask because my wife wants another stainless P95.
(We had one & sold it several years ago.)
But I have found a good deal on a blued P89. ( Wants $225.00 for it. No case or papers, but does come with a holster)

What do yall think? Should I hold out for the P95 like we had before?

Ruger Repair Report

I have owned a P345 for 4 years. I have shot it very little over that time. 600-700 rounds. The last couple of times at the range, the firing pin failed to advance and strike the round.

After the first range session, I cleaned the gun thoroughly.

Still happened. Some magazines, no problem. Others up to 3-4 misfires each. I changed ammunition quality. Problem persisted.

Overnighted by ground back to Ruger on a Thursday. They received it on the following Monday. $30 total shipping. I expected a phone call from the repair department giving me the repair cost. Also expected to give them my credit card info for repair costs & return shipping.

Nothing. No call. No e-mail. Nothing. They had told me 1-2 weeks turnaround.

On the 14th day, the Fex Ex guy rings the doorbell. I was expecting the 5 free magazines that came with my new S&W M&P 15 AR. Nope.

It was my P345 coming back from Ruger. New firing pin and firing pin spring. It had obviously been cleaned to boot! No charge!

They stand behind their products.

Ruger P95 - I NEED HELP!!!

OK so i went to the range today to fire off some rounds, came back home and cleaned and lubricated after use. This is a pretty simple taks that anyone can do, I disassembled it no problem, upon reassembly though my slide locked in a position with the barrel and the spring sticking out, and it now only goes back partially, it wont go forward at all, and it won't lock. I googled this and it lead me to this website, and this post

The people that responded to this post said that using a hanger to pull down the ejector should do the trick, however when I pull down the ejector it locks in the complete opposite position with the slide to far forward. I'm going to attach photos as soon as I upload them on my computer right now, but if anything I'm saying makes sense without them please help.

Ruger 1911 "rumors circulating"

Been checking out some other forums, talk is Ruger is going to introduce a "1911".

Some of the talk is that in the latest issue of Backwoods Home Magazine Nov/Dec2009, supposedly Massad Ayoob writes that Ruger is ready to introduce a low-price, high-quality 1911.

Has anyone else heard of this?

does anyone have one of the ati svd stocks on their 10/22. i think they look neat in the pics in cheaper than dirt. are there any downsides. do they require alot of filing or sanding to mount.

Ruger Red Label question

Hey all, couple questions...

1st, my friend has a Ruger Red Label. It has been magna-ported (I think that is what it is called) and is a complete skeet gun, with adjustable kick pad (up, down, left, right, and can even be canted). It also has had something done internally to the barrels....smoothed or something...?

2nd, he also has a remingtion 1100 also with the same modifications...

What would these be worth, I can post pictures...

Both guns are 10 - 15 years lod or older....

Out of a 1 - 10 I would put the Ruger around a 6.5 and the Remingtion around 7.0

Oh and the remingtion also has tube chokes....

standard model front sight

I put Millet adjustable rear sights on my 2 Ruger standard pistols but the factory front sights are too low. I have seen longer front sight blades but I can't find any for sale. does any one know where I can get some? thanks Mike

10/22 build dates?

I picked up a walnut stocked carbine today for a good price. The booklet has a '94 printing date. The SN is 115-40XXX. Does anyone know a link to the serial number and year of manufacture for 10/22s? Better, do you just happen to know when this one was made? I'm not sure when they switched to the basswood or whatever stocks instead of walnut, but I think they ran both for a while with a premium on the walnut.
