Hey guys I've got a Marlin 336W 30-30. I gotta admit I think I am in love with lever action rifles. I kinda want to buy every single lever action Marlin available(not going to, but I would like to).

First Question: Is the Leverevolution ammo really good, and does it shoot well in every gun, or are certain guns off limits?

Second Question: What is the advantage to having a lever action chambered in a revolver round such as .357/.38spl?

Third Question: With all these Marlins' chambered in revolver rounds why don't they have .454 Casul/.45LC?

Fourth Question: Does the Marlin "Cowboy"(the really long one) shoot way better than a regular short Marlin?

Thanks in advance

A little imagination is needed with this thread. Just thought this would be a good gun to keep in the truck. If I had the money, time, equipment to build one I would give it a shot. It would be tough to mount a folding stock though. I did this with paint and didnt know how to angle the stock to make it look better. Sorry. It would be hard to get the angle just right. Im stuck between the .357 and 44 mag. I like the .357 because of the cheaper .38's for plinking. The .357 has great man stopping power but is on the lower end of the scale if you ever had to take out large game. Thats why I think the 44 mag would be a great option. 16 inch barrel of course. No ports on the barrel just incase you ever had to take a defensive shot close to your face, like pressed up to your driver side window. I dont like hot gun powder in my eyes. I know they have trappers out there that have the 16 1/4 barrel but they are very expensive. The folding stock is on there for storage porpuses not for looks. What do you guys think?

The 989-M2 is in pretty darn good condition :) came with one small & one large magazine.

I'm happy :)
Looking forward to putting a few toys on it ;)

I'm thinking a Rimfire Technologies 795-style trigger guard...Yeah, I know it won't cover the third hole, but I don't care ;) I'll save the old one in case I ever get rid of it.

The front sight leaves something to be desired...heck, both sights do...but since it's a barrel wrap I can't use a Tech Sight unless I D/T it...so I might just leave the sights alone for awhile.

The stock is in Marvelous condition :)

And I need a few more mags...what's the highest capactiy mag that'll fit on a 989??

Hi, I recently aquired a Glenfield model 25 and its in pretty good shape. However, the stock looks like it could use a little freshing up. Looks dry and kinda....flat for lost of a better term. Is there a cleaner, wax, oil or paste treatment that I could apply to this stock to bring out some life and lustre? Being a Glenfield I think I remember reading somewhere the stock is birchwood.

I mentioned above a cleaner because it has some transfer (paint)on the butt end, probably bang against the wall or wood work when put back in a closet for storasge from the previous owner. In any case I need some good sound advice on how to remove the transfer an give the stock some life. Thanks.

I have a Glenfield mod 25 Marlin and the safety is backwards. That is when it is on SAFE it is ready to fire and when it is on FIRE you can't pull the trigger. This is obviously not a very safe condition. I was wondering if anyone else has run accross this condition on a mod 25 or if it's just a factory screw up. The word FIRE is towards the rear of the gun and the word SAFE is towards the front. Is this the way it is stamped on other guns. The selector moves normal from one position to the other with no problem but the conditions are backwards. Maybe it's a rare find. Serial number is 27431401. Any suggestions.
