thats the best stuff you can eat man, besides a roast duck or pot roast that tasts like your eating your shirt.

ok ill put up some brisket to fish stuff to entertain you guys and your hunger, alot of smoked foods will be this way, when it comes spring time here in IOWA

the one thing i do like in it, is to croumble up some crispy bacon into the boiling water first, 4 or 5 pieces will do niceley, then add all the rest and 2 or 3 spoons extra of butter along with the suger makes gruel a pleasure to eat, heheheheee try it youll like it. add more suger and or milk to your taste, but its good....

I've started my days off with a bowl of oatmeal.

I bought the raisins and spice. I guess I will have to get regular oatmeal to see any affects

My mother spent years trying to get me to finish a bowl of oatmeal now and then, and never succeeded. I hate it with a passion.

Corn meal mush, on the other hand...ahhh. It's the breakfast of the gods. Cook it up with a little bit of sausage well-browned and crumbled fine in it; stir in butter and brown sugar or maple sugar, add milk (enough to allow you to drink it from a giant mug if you want it to go), and you're good 'til lunchtime.

Then how about a Tbs of Peanut Butter and a scoop of chocolate Protein powder. This stuff rocks, and will balance out the breakfast with Good Fats, More Protein, and complex carbs. It really sticks with you.

I like the flavored Instant Oatmeals - two or three packets in a deep bowl, and I'm good all morning! I really prefer the Maple and Brown Sugar flavor, with Apple Cinnamon a close second.
But, I just bought two big (2.3 pound) cans of "Original Oatmeal", the plain Jane old style. I'll add sugar, brown sugar, a little honey - find the combination that suits me.
Instant Grits in the various flavors is good too, though not as good as real stove-top cooked grits.
Once on my Navy ship, the Mess cranks tried to tell us the Gosh-aweful Creme-of-Wheat crap was grits - they found out the hard way, ya don't do that with a boat-load of Southern boys! We threatened to show them the meaning of "Keel-hauling".

Grits are good too...I usually eat them with salt and pepper, butter and a little sprinkle of garlic powder.
