oven-baked pork chops

In the grand tradition of plagiarizing recipes, and inspired by the example of our own illustrious Chef Earl, I have pilfered the following from allrecipes.com. I was too lazy to even rewrite it; I just cut and pasted.

INGREDIENTS

* 1 tablespoon soy sauce
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon lemon juice
* 2 tablespoons brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons ketchup
* 6 pork chops, trimmed

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a small bowl, thoroughly blend soy sauce, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, and ketchup.
3. Place pork chops in a medium baking dish, and spread with 1/2 the sauce.
4. Bake pork chops 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Turn, and spread with remaining sauce. Continue baking 30 minutes, or until internal temperature of the chops has reached 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

The only change I made was to add a teaspoon of Liquid Smoke to the sauce, because I had originally planned to grill until the evening sneaked up on me. And I used four big honkin' pork steaks, instead of six pork chops that fit in a medium baking dish. It came out darn good.

Did you use Boston Butt steaks Troy? That sounds mighty darn good to me. But I sorta agree they'd have been even better over the grill.

Dunno what you'd call them, Earl. They were just 1" cuts of pork with what looked like a t-bone in the middle; the local Stater Bros grocery had them on sale for .99 lb. A little fat to deal with, but no big deal.

Believe it or not, jimkim, I went digging in the cupboard. Earl has made a believer out of me when it comes to bourbon. But the wife and boys used up what I had stashed making cold remedies, when they all came down sick a couple of weeks ago. I doubt the hot toddies or whiskey/lemon juice/honey concoctions cured them any, but I imagine it made being sick a little more bearable...lol

You better come a'runnin' or there won't be any left by the time you get here, Mike.

Maybe I should give you fair warning, so you could get a head start?

Troy2000... Now that recipe really sounds good, just right for an upcoming campfire cookout.

Thanks...
