Question Rabbit camp cooking

What would be a good way to cook rabbit over a campfire?Just stick it on a stick or cook it on a grate like a grill? Any other ways? And is rabbit good to eat before it freezes?

Either way is good Mark, on the stick makes ya feel more like a mountain man though! Wash the rabbit real good after you skin it. I like it still twitching when I cook mine!

P.S.

Freezing is not generaly an issue, unless the transport of the kill is not condusive to the weather.

In some cases you need to be aware of tulmeria. when dressing the rabbit (gloves recomended) look for spots on the liver. discard rabbit if any. look for parasites in general.

If a bit warm out field dress to cool and get to ice or cook soon.

Never heard any-thing abt. weather freezing making a difference. I still like to use wild herbs, onions etc. whatever is around, stuff it with herbs (discard, don't eat) then cook as you would a prairie chicken or pheasant.
