Tommy, if I could get that to me I'd send you a check for mixes, making, and shipping. I know I'll be waiting for that recipe and copying it.
I was in the U.S. military. The only time I'd eat bugs is when I'd have to jump into a jungle without food. Then anything goes. All I know is on the way down I'd be saying, crawfish, please let there be crawfish down there.

craw fish stew

ok here's the recipe for crawfish stew
"Crawfish stew"

2 lb. peeled precooked crawfish tails
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1 tbsp of parsley
2 cans rotel tomatoes
6 to 8 peeled hard boiled eggs (optional)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
2 to 2 1/4 quarts of water
1 1/4 cup oil
1 1/4 cup flour

First you make your roux.Which is the flour and cooking oil stirred constantly,so it won't stick, over medium heat. Continue stirring until roux is the color of a well used penny. When roux is this color stir in celery and onions until blended, then add your water.Stir until roux is dissolved and water thickens. Then add everything but the crawfish and the eggs and let come to a good boil then reduce heat.Let cook for about 35 to 40 min. on low to medium heat. You can then add your eggs, sliced into rings (add yolks & whites)and your crawfish.Cook for about 15 to 20 more minutes. Then serve over cooked white rice. Serves about 6 to 8 coonasses. Enjoy !!!!!!

boneguru, I was wondering about the transport thing when I read my latest license brochure...wondering how the G&F can tell if they are dead or not...or just sleeping, lol. Do they carry around a small stethescope?

I went to Lake Pleasant one night to catch a mess.....got a handfull is all.....then I heard of the extremely high level of mercury in the sediment of most of our Arizona lakes. I went to Water Dog Willy's and talked to them....they get most of theirs from local raisers.....might be a great alternative.

Then again how about some boiled water dogs? mmmmm?

Water dogs? You mean the big, ugly salamanders? We have something similar in Texas, but bigger. It is called a Siren and only has 2 legs. The head is real blunt, almost like a catfish. They get well over a foot long. Found one in a creek once. They are scarce and never even heard of them before I found it.
