What is the pin hole for?

On my FEG PA-63 in front of the hammer release lever, there is a small hole that had a pin in it. Is this pin supposed to be there? When the pin is in place the hammer release lever doesn't release. Does the pin need to be in the gun?

Please advise.

Never mind, I found the solution, it was a bent release lever which I have fixed. The pistol works fine now with the new springs from Wollfs. Thanks for looking.
