Tackling the gun debate head-on

Yesterday afternoon, the Supreme Court announced it would hear a challenge to the District of Columbia`s gun laws, which virtually ban handguns and require that long guns be kept locked and unloaded. The court deserves commendation, not only for considering an issue it hasn`t directly ruled on for almost 70 years, but also for posing the question in a straightforward manner.
