New Database Will Track Guns Used in Crimes

New York City is building a new database to track guns used in crimes, and it intends to share the information with police departments up and down the East Coast in an effort to crack down on illegal gun trafficking.

Arrest the criminal who wrongfully uses the gun! A database that will contain names, addresses, and firearms owned by lawful American gun owners is not something we need.

If they wanted to have a list all they'd have to do is to collect all the paperwork from all FFL and C&R holders. Then they'd have a complete list of who bought what, the brand, the model, the caliber, the finish, options or accessories it came with or were purchased with it not to mention the serial #'s. That is already suppose to be illegal to do. But I'm sure there is a list somewhere. They have there ways.

But if this is only an attempt to keep track of only stolen or illegal guns or guns that have been used in crimes, and if in the end it might prevent crimes, or a registered or law-abiding gun owner from buying one that might be stolen or illegal or used in a crime, all the better for us all then isn't it? But there's usually an ulterior motive with Bloomberg. But, if it is yet another Bloomberg back door attempt to circumvent the system, then of course, it shouldn't be allowed.
