When he announced that he would reenact the expired assault weapons ban. Assault weapons are select fire weapons capable of full automatic fire which means that the weapon will continue to fire as long as the trigger is held down. There is a law which was passed in the 1930s and is still in effect today which prevents the general public form buying, selling, or owning full automatic weapons. The SEMI-automatic look alikes are capable of firing only ONE round when the trigger is pulled are not assault weapons regardless of our biased MEDIA calling them that. They are no more dangerous than a deer hunting rifle. However, because of media hype many of these were included in the Assault Weapons ban and should not have been as they are NOT assault weapons.
