Isn`t Self-Defense Common Sense?

Under the Second Amendment, Barack Obama says, "There is an individual right to bear arms, but it is subject to common-sense regulation, just like most of our rights are subject to common-sense regulation." The leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination thus seems to be on the same wavelength as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. But there is a crucial difference between these superficially similar formulations: The appeals court meant what it said, and Obama doesn`t.

regulation

GGReporter: Sir; Ask Obama? What is common sense regulation?
He's an idiotic "politician." Both sides of the mouth again

"But as the D.C. Circuit emphasized when it found Washington's gun law unconstitutional, "the people's right to arms was auxiliary to the natural right of self-preservation," which was "understood as the right to defend oneself against attacks by lawless individuals, or, if absolutely necessary, to resist and throw off a tyrannical government."

Because Obama ignores these aspects of the Second Amendment, he sees no constitutional barrier to a complete ban on the manufacture, sale, and possession of handguns, which he
supported when he ran for the Illinois Senate in 1996. Two years later he said he favored a ban on the sale or transfer of all semiautomatic firearms, which would cover not only most handguns but many hunting rifles and shotguns as well."

In other words, Obama is a gun-grabbing sonofabitch who is only interested in getting elected and then making sure The People have the specifically guaranteed civil right to keep and bear arms taken away from them, the better to oppress them. Mr. Obama would do well to take a close look at the history of the civil rights movement, which featured an organization of black firearms owners that went a long way toward keeping the white supremacists at bay and insuring that the civil rights movement was civil and not rudely and bloodily punctuated with the wholesale murder of freedom riders, black activists and outspoken black leaders. If blacks had not been able to carry arms while the white racists could, just how far would the civil rights leaders he so loves to portray himself as the successor to, have gotten? Can you say "HYPOCRITE," boys and girls? I knew you could!

If anyone on the forum needed a reason not to vote for him that has nothing to do with his race, religion, ancestry or middle name, here it is. McCain is no prize pig, but he's loads better than Obama in the matter of Second Amendment rights.

Better buy your firearms while you can, my friends. As Ethan Allen said, "Put your trust in God, my boys, but keep your powder dry!"
