Last week, columnist Linda Campbell assailed Texas Attorney Greg Abbott for leading 31 states before the U.S. Supreme Court in defense of the Second Amendment. If we stand accused of vigorously protecting the constitutional right to keep and bear arms, we readily plead guilty as charged.
Basically Troy he is Texas bought and paid for legal Eagle. A retained lawyer if you will. The Attorney General of Texas is a member of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice while the Solicitor General of Texas is Texas Lawyer. Simplest way I can put it you ol desert rat!

Okay, that makes sense. By the way, I wonder when California's Attorney General is planning to join the other 31 in the legal brief...
"That's a joke, son, Ah say, it's a joke! Went right past his pointy little head..." (Foghorn Leghorn). Our Attorney General is former governor Jerry Brown, AKA "Governor Moonbeam."
Gawd Troy please tell me yer lieing Moonbeam isn't still in California poilitics is he????
I wouldn't kid about that, Earl. He was the mayor of Oakland for a couple of terms, then got himself elected Attorney General. One of his ads accused his opponent of being in favor of keeping "fifty-caliber assault rifles" legal.
I heard not too long ago that this was the "weapon of choice" for murderers and terrorists !
Wonder if there's ever been anyone or anything living shot with one (on purpose) in the CONUS.
I did know a twenty-year-old kid who holed a windmill's water tank with one, or at least my sons say he was the one who did it. That's the extent of the crimes I've heard of...
And by the way, my sons were less than impressed with him for doing it.

"A .50 caliber assault rifle." Oh brother, does that jackass need some serious firearms education! There ain't never been no such beast. That .50 BMG round kinda is the antithesis of the very concept of an assault rifle round!
Closest thing I ever heard of for that purpose was a firearm one of my D&D characters, a 6 foot 17 inch half-orc, carried. He had a weaponsmith work over a Ma Deuce to the M1919A6 configuration of a squad machine gun. (Our dungeonmaster would let us get away with almost anything if it could be justified in gaming context.) But that is fictional, of course. Does that idiot Brown have any idea how incredibly ludicrous his statement is?
