Obama on small-town PA: Clinging to religion, guns, xenophobia

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Maybe people cling to guns because they are scared to death of a man running for president who listens to a reverend who is a disgusting anti-american racist. Maybe people cling to guns because they are scared to death of a woman running for president who would sacrifice her own self-esteem so that she can follow her sleazy husband's trousers (with the fly open) to meet her own selfish and dishonest quest for power--not for the american people but for her own self-interests. These are the reasons are just purchased a handgun--never having ever owned or touched a handgun in my life--if one of these pathetic democrats are elected, I will not trust this government to do anything for me except take what I got in the name of socialism--and they will only do that after I have defended my home and my family.

You, sir, have an inherent right to defend yourself and your family. Please never let anyone tell you otherwise. The police can assist you with this; the final right and responsibility will always rest with you.

I'd advise you to become proficient with your new firearm (and training is inexpensive and goes a long way), always observe the basic gun safety rules (always assume the gun is loaded, never point the gun at anything you don't want to shoot, always assume the gun will go "bang" when the trigger is pulled, and you are responsible for the safe carriage and securing of your firearm). Enjoy the shooting -- for me it's a great deal of fun and relaxing. Welcome to the world of pistol owners.

Cheers.

With this current govt, and all these non Christian immigrants flooding in, we have every right to cling to these things, we have a right to preserve our heritage and protect our families, because the govt won't. we should of stayed a republic instead of becoming a democracy.
