7 Killed In Tokyo Stabbing Rampage

Screaming as he randomly stabbed shoppers with a hunting knife, a man killed seven people and injured 11 others at lunchtime Sunday in a Tokyo retail district.
Strict gun-control laws make it difficult for most Japanese to own handguns.

yea, I saw that too. He pretty much went on a killing spree, then an officer tried to talk to him but to no avail until the officer finally took his gun out and said he'd shoot unless the guy surrendered. He dropped the knife and went w/ the police. Creepy You Tube video in online today; all in Japanese.

Angry

Great..... so give him a year of fuzzy feel good psycho sessions, declare him cured and put him back on the street.....

One good citizen with CCW could've ended this killing spree early on. Save the tax-payers lots of moolah too.

Child shoots self with grandmother's gun at SC store
Jun 9, 05:31 PM EDT

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A 4-year-old girl shot herself in the chest Monday after snatching her grandmother's handgun from the woman's purse while riding in a shopping cart at a Sam's Club store, authorities said.
A witness, Lueen Homewood, said store workers grabbed first-aid materials off store shelves to help the grandmother as she cradled the wounded child near the store's pharmacy, The (Columbia) State newspaper reported on its Web site.
The girl was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and was recovering Monday afternoon after surgery, said police department spokesman Brick Lewis. Hospital officials would not release her condition after the operation.
Lewis said the grandmother, Donna Hutto Williamson, has a permit to carry a concealed weapon. The purse containing the small-caliber handgun was in the cart near the child, Lewis said. The 47-year-old Williamson, of Salley, was not immediately charged with a crime.
Officials said the shooting, which was captured on store surveillance cameras, appeared to be accidental. Lewis said police would not release the video.
The store was closed while police investigated the shooting. It reopened Monday afternoon.

yikes! That's really upsetting. Handbags are maybe not the best place to carry... just my opinion.
As for the guy in Japan? yea, it was weird how everybody handled him w/ kid gloves. (I saw the you tube clip) Wasn't what I expected. But isn't Japan into the death penalty? I'd be surprised if the guy got off.

WRONG! teach you children not to touch, handel, or play with a firearm. TEACH them at an early age what the firearm is used for, and when old enough,SHOW them what, when and how to use the firearm, then they will RESPECT the firearm.

When I was growing up there was loaded firearms in the house, readily gotten to. YES. Did I dare touch it when my parents were not home?, NO. was I taught at an early age what, when, where and why? Yes. Did we ever have an accident? NO. did the other kids that came over bother them? NO. and why you ask, Because they were taught the same dern thing I was growing up.

Should the Grandmother have left the purse laying around in the cart when in a PUBLIC store , No only IDIOTS do that. should she have maintained controll of the container holding her firearm for self defence... You bet!

And finally....... Now that I am grown and live in my own house that I own, do I have loaded firearms in the house with ease of access? You bet... A firearm that is behind locked safes, and unloaded is a home invaders dream.

Flame on people...I could care less..
