Handgun bans don`t cut crime

Banning handguns is all the rage. Mayor David Miller`s push for a national ban has been joined by other Canadian big-city mayors. Yet, dissatisfied with progress at the national level, Miller successfully asked city council this week to approve measures to further discourage gun ownership in Toronto, such as shutting down city-owned gun ranges.

Miller is an idiot. I hope the Canadians get enough voters to recall him.

This Mayor Miller must be related to Mayer Bloomberg? I'm quite sure Bloomberg has contacted him either before he started his campaign or real short thereafter as he seems to be Bloomberg's kind of patsy...What a shame. I wonder how much cash these so called "city owned" gun ranges bring in? Because I'm sure if it's a good sum, they might say screw you, where's this extra revenue going to come from then once it's gone? That would be wishful thinking anyhow wouldn't it? lol

Angry

Like I always say....

The ONLY way a "law-maker" has to show the gullible public that he is actually 'doing something to fight crime' is to make laws - doesn't matter that it's stupid, useless and punishing the good public instead of Billy Banger - it's just the sight of the new law going into effect that is important. Now you know why there are literally hundreds of anti-gun laws on the books.
Inanimate objects and law-abiding people make so much easier targets than actually 'fighting crime', which means having to actually deal with CRIMINALS!
Sheesh, that's too much like WORK!

A small handfull of laws, enforced tot he hilt - that is what is needed. Instead, a Government run by ambulance-chasers and Criminal Defense Attorneys really runs this nation - don't expect anything really effective or smart from them - CRIME is GOOD for BUSINESS!!

Bingo. Check with the British and other countries who ban firearms. Their crime rate is no lower... they'll just use a knife, axe, hatchet, scissors, etc. to commit their crimes. They all will kill you as well as a gun.
