Taiwan: Legalization of gun ownership not considered

The government will not consider legalizing gun ownership by the country's citizens, Minister of the Interior Jiang Yi huah said Thursday.Jiang said the disadvantages of allowing gun ownership outweigh the benefits and that the ministry will only consider allowing security guards to carry firearms.

Gee, that's odd. Chinese-Americans from Taiwan, and Asian-Americans in general are generally armed and commit fewest crimes overall in this country. You would think officials in Asian countries would take notice.

This is what the anti-gunners have in mind for us, if they think they can get away with it. Taiwan should benefit from our example, not America from theirs.
