Surprise! Disarming victims ends badly

When Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan started shooting up the Soldier Readiness Processing Center at Fort Hood, Pfc. Marquest Smith dove under a desk. The Associated Press reported that "he lay low for several minutes, waiting for the shooter to run out of ammunition and wishing he, too, had a gun." Neither Smith nor the other victims of Hasan's assault had guns because soldiers on military bases within the United States generally are not allowed to carry them.

If even the Chicago Sun-Times gets it, perhaps there is hope of the City of Chicago yet. Of course, before reality can set in for Chicago, they have to boot their mayor out of office and elect someone, plus a City Council's-worth of someones, who have working brains. That would be a demanding task; but those are the kind best worth doing.

... if you mean hobbled by PC politicians and leaders who are afraid of their own shadows? I'd agree with that ... BUT ... it's not all of us.
