Experts square off on right to bear arms

The man who successfully challenged a prohibition against handguns in the District of Columbia before the Supreme Court said last night during a local debate about the Second Amendment that some states have gone too far. That's what happened in the District of Columbia, which required that firearms either be equipped with trigger locks or kept disassembled, said Alan Gura, a lawyer from Alexandria, Va., who argued the Supreme Court case.

An interesting look into the minds of the anti-gunners. Joseph Blocher, the college professor moron supporting the "collective right" position that says only members of the organized militia should have guns, is either brainwashed or ill-educated on the subject. Historically, the Supreme Court has always held without explicitly stating so until DC vs Heller, that the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right. The "collective right" horsecrap is something the anti-gunners came up with in the 1960s to give them a quasi-legal rationale to try and legally bar the ownership of firearms in America. How a law professor manages to twist history and legal precedent to 'support' his position beats me. He's built his legal castle on sand, as will become plain when McDonald vs Chicago is decided in favor of gun owners, as I feel it has to be based on the facts.

Ask how could we have successfully overthrown the King, had settlers not been armed?

I will agree with anti-gunners, as soon as they guaranty my family's safety...
