Last nights fishing trip to Montana Creek

Well, we didnt catch any silver (Coho) salmon last night. The return is just been very low this year all over this area, BUT as usuall the Pink salmon and Dog (Chum) were returning in great numbers. I usually dont keep chum or pinks because I dont care for the flavor but we kept a pink for smoking and my son caught his first salmon that just so happened to be a chum. So I told him we would keep this one but that from now on no more chum . He brought it in on his own also, it sure tired him out .

And My "baby" pink .

And here is ours and our friends fish. "bucket-o-fish" any one? O and thats a five gallon bucket they are in for reference.

Even though we didnt get that elusive Coho we still had fun. Tomarrow morning me and the neighbor are going to try a different creek that is suppose to still have some reds (sockeye) and silvers (Coho) running at the moment.

Well, I got up early this morning and was on the creek (Cottonwood Creek) at 6:00 am when it opened, within about 5 minutes I had my two silver salmon for the day

One is good size and the other was fairly small but I didnt want to risk letting it go and then not catching another . Silvers are known for hitting good in the morning then around 8 or 9 am sometimes will suddonly stop biting.
