Thumbs up

I'll be fishing again tomorrow morning for more crappie. My favorite spot for catching them is up close to a concrete bridge pier where the water is about 20 ft deep. In the past three weeks the water temperature has dropped from around 80 deg. F to around 73 deg. F. This makes those crappie more active and by using medium length minnows and some good luck I'll bring home my limit of 15 crappie again, all 9" or longer, which is the legal requirement at Smithville Lake, here in NW, MO.

So...knightrider...it's more Harold Ensley Batter, eggs and milk, boiling deep fat, and tarter sauce. They're gonna be good eat'in, for sure.

Well, being a southern boy, catching and eating catfish is in my blood. Since my Mom and Step-Dad moved to florida I have tried Red Snapper and Hammer Head and I gotta say they are my new favorite to eat.

I grew up eating stronger-tasting fish - Mullet, Black Bass and Grunts in saltwater, and the bream and muddy catfish in fresh water.
So, things like Whiting, Tilapia and other 'white fish' taste bland to me. Shark is okay - I like it for the fact there are no bones. Taste is uninspiring though.

These days, fish that Dad and I used to throw away as trash are selling for big money! We sold our Mullet for 35cents a pound in the early eighties - now it's bringing three bucks or more a pound in the stores! And it often isn't true Mullet - some Asian crapfish they are mislabeling.

Love catching shark!

Nothing like standing on the second rail to get your line over the pylons so he doesn't wrap around it and break the line. Then the fun begins when you try to remove the hook.

Halibut Fishing Hands Down...Best eating and I love the fight of a "Barndoor", My biggest has been 200 lbs. Lots of them 35 to 150 lbs.I did hook one that almost took me overboard, but my friends grabbed me and held on while I cut the drag loose a bit...Ended up breaking the hook...He was a $10,000 dollar fish .
We have a Derby every year in Valdez for the Largest Sport caught 'but !

Moose is right, halibut fishing is a blast, and they taste great. A freind of mine caught one out of Homer last year that weighed 330lbs. Huge fish.

My favorite to catch is definitely largemouth bass. Here's one I caught before I left for training this summer. She was just shy of seven pounds. Right after my friend's brother pulled in another six pounder. I love that pond. Very productive. Good place for bass, bream, and crappie.

Bass are strong fighters when you're trying to land them, as compared to the crappie that I've been catching.

Haha. I love the fight. And then she hit topwater. A topwater catch has to be my favorite. Gets my adrenaline flowing. Good stuff. Going out tomorrow morning. May have some more pictures for you guys.

a nice beautiful chrome STEELHEAD fantastic fish to fight

Sturgeon - another of my favourite to fish for - this one was caught on the weekend on the Fraser River - took 4 guys 1.5 hours to bring up - 10.5' length and 5.5' girth - I have caught 6 and 7' sturgeon but that one would be a dream

Love to bass fish, but will fish for whatever's biting.
Love to eat about any fish I can get someone else to cook for me.

I like catching them all, but my favorites for eating would have to be crappie for freshwater and Flounder for saltwater.

My favourite fish to catch is a hard one.I love catching all fish.Trout would be my favourite, followed by the Murray cod, then golden perch(yellowbelly),redfin are also lots of fun to catch on lure.Carp are top fighters. And these are only fresh water, dont get me started on salt water fishing.
