1st time flyfishing

Going to try flyfishing for the first time. I bought a cheap combo set to start off with. Just waiting for it to warm up a little.

O man you will be hooked!! I bought mine a couple of years ago!! It is great fun. Try gettin a small bass or something onit. Wow it is such a fight!! O good times...

I started when I was 13. I was hooked. I have fished fresh and saltwater with flies. The best advice I can give you is to buy the best gear you can afford. You can buy second-hand stuff. It will make the experience that much better if you don't have to mess with your gear. I have a few reels that are pushing 20 years old. They are nice machined aluminum. They work just as well today as they did when I bought them. I have a St. Croix rod I bought in the early 1990's that has landed, without exageration, 1,000+ steelhead.
