Overhaul the gas system?

I was having problems with jams in my L1A1. I adjusted the gas block to fully closed to try fix it as per advice from this board. This helped a lot. The frequency of jams is much less. I still get a jam every couple mags or so though. Does my gun need an overhaul? I see Tapco has gas tubes and plungers for it. Or is this problem due to something other than wear on the gas system?
