| Administrator ![]() | The FNC rifle is one of the finest 5.56 rifles I have ever had in my hands. I shot one this past weekend. The rifle is accurate and has a gas piston operation akin to an AK or a Galil. As an added bonus, it accepts all AR/M16 magazines. The trigger group on this rifle is very similar to the SAW currently carried by our military. The only drawback was the trigger which was somewhat heavy. The trigger was smooth however, with no creep. The upper is stamped steel. The lower is aluminum alloy. The rifle has a flashider and a multi-port muzzle break, compete with a bayonet attachment, grenade launcher capability (and the sights). The rifle I shot was the pre-ban ('89) fixed stock model that was semi-auto. I understand that some FNC's that are in the US are class III transferable (pre '86) with select-fire capability and folding stocks. The FNC is not as popular as the FN/FAL in the US. The FNC is the rifle used by Al Pacino in the Michael Mann movie HEAT. FNC SOF Article

| Super Moderator ![]() | Killed by the stinky ban. Though US parts compliant ones wouldn't be to hard to do if the parts importation restrictions lightened up.

| Super Moderator ![]() | Hmm, say you had a US made lower receiver, a couple US made semi auto FCG parts, US made stock (I'd prefer a different handguard), and used US made AR-15 mags, you'd have a great rifle. Hmm, maybe a letter to DSArms is in order?

| Administrator ![]() | DS Arms does stock firing pins for the FNC. The class III FNC owners seem to comprise the majority of the FNC "cult" (for lack of a better word). The parts that get into the US are bought-up quickly since the class III rifles burn up parts at a rapid rate. Guys I don't usually give such a major endorsement of any firearm after little exposure and trigger time, but the FNC is top shelf. If our troops were carrying this rifle (instead of the FN contract M4's and Colt contract M16's), the FTF, FTE incidents (like Jessica Lynch) would be few and far between. ![]()
