Angry Slop

On my FN FAL, if you hold the forend with one hand and the butt stock with the other you can get a little rotational movement. The upper wobbles in the lower. I would not think this would be good for accuracy. How do I tighten things up?

The only real problem it can cause if it's too bad is mis-feeding from the mag, but it's gotta be floppin for that to happen. Everything to do accuracy wise is in the top, but I know your concern for the loosness - it just don't seem right. Field strip the whole machine and take the pivot bolt and see which one it's loose in, top or bottom. If it's loose in the top, the pivot hole can be bushed - I've seen basically the same deal on AR's before. The holes in the lower are basically through sheet metal so it's harder to tighten them up other than replacing the lower. Actually you can get a new lower from Tapco or DS Arms for not too big a bucks.

Thumbs up

Got it. Put the lower in the vise between piece of leather and tightened slowly fitted and tighten fitted ....well you get it, no more slop or wobble.
