| Word of caution-FN 49 I got a nice looking but used FN-49. Ran into serious defect that may or may not be fixable (can you even find parts to fix one?). It shot a couple of rd.s but then the trigger quit working. I thought "Oh! Better put this on safe and see what's wrong." BANG it went when the safety lever was moved! I checked it over and it started working again but not for long. I didn't get to shoot a full mag when I decided this was too dangerous. Took it back to the gun store and showed them the problem. He took the trigger assy. out and tried it and it malfunctioned again. So I just told them that I could never trust the gun and traded it for an extremely nice Yugo AK-47 which I am very pleased with. Should have gotten the AK first anyway. Always remember. Mil-spec guns can be like new, or they can be well used, or used up, worn out, or broken. Fortunately, nobody got hurt. I AM an experienced safe shooter but wierd crap can happen to anybody! Have fun but do it safely with safe guns & ammo. |
