Death from above!! I voted for the paratrooper. My runner up would be the STG-58. I do not know all the in and outs of all the rifles listed, but voted with what I know. I said paratrooper because I like airborne infantry, and they usually get cool/special weapons. A folding stock and shorter barrel on a FAL is pretty sweet. The Army airborne get SAWs with short barrels and folding stocks, which makes a good weapon better. I like heavy barrels, but I think heavy barreled FALs would be to heavy for the average soldier (maybe I am just used to my H-Bar AR-15). I like the STG for the attatched bi-pod.

I like the L1A1 just for the handling, it is well balanced and "fits" me good. My only drawback is the overall length. I also like the STG-58 just for the looks...

You actually forgot one of the FN FAL family, the C1A1. Although very similar to the L1A1, they are not exactly the same. I prefer the C1A1. It incorporates many of the best items from both sides of the fence line. It has the short body cover with the quick charger guide incorporated and a fold down battle site that can be dialed into the range desired. Additionally it is a very well balanced rifle that fires one of the best battle rounds in the world. Aside from that, this is the one I slepped around for four years and shot many rounds out of it on live fires and at the range.
