| Arcus Being as the ammo is inexpensive and the recoil mild, I'mthinking of eventually picking up a 9mm pistol. High capacity is a big plus. So I come accross the Arcus pistols, imported by Century and distributed by AIM. Not a bad price at all. And I think they're very aesthetic. Anyone have good or bad experience with them? And anyone think the 9mm vs 45 controversy is overrated and it would make a good carry piece, perhaps using self-defense ammo designed for a greater impact than the military 9mm that is said to be insifficient? My only beef with the hi-powers is the seemingly high barrel axis and I'm told they're a bear to take down. But I've never even fired one. Not sure if I've held one either. Any fans of this little bugger?

| well personally im not much of an arcus fan, but i am an absolute hi power fanatic. 9 vs 45- good quality ammo pretty much levels the playing field. now if you were talking ball ammo the 45 has an advantage, personally i choose the 40 s&w. take down of the hi power is simple and straight forward. the hi power is probably one of the smoothest shooting semi auto ive ever fired ( maybe thats some of the reason i have 3 of them). for a self defence semi dont go cheap get an FN , or browning. if you need to keep costs down go with a revolver. my own thinking is i wont trust my life to a cheaply made gun. |
