A friend just bought a new FN 5.7 pistol. Looks nice. He's looking for reloading data... We can't seem to find anything, can anybody help me out?

Fn 5.7x28 was developed for polymer ammo, tht was designed to penetrte body armor then do damge to tissue. The original bullets were never meant to be available to civilian markets, and seem to have been withdrawn from oice/military markets as well. It's not a very old caliber, so their might not be established data there.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I've done a little research myself and have discovered a whole new world out there. I guess what I was really looking for was something like a Ruger 77 chambered in the 5.7x28. Might be some coming later on if the cartridge catches on a bit more.

I'm a big FN fan but will caution on the side of Five Sevin. The civilian projectiles in the loaded ammo are completely watered down, albeit still lethal. Look at the cartridge like this, a .22 Mag on steroids with centerfire reliability and bottleneck performance.

BTW, you can buy an AR upper in this paltform that accepts the 50 round P-90 magazine. Pretty sweet. Something the wife or daughter could rock and roll easily in a pinch.

Money is an amazing thing. I f you want a Ruger chambered in Five Sevin, I'm sure someone out there will do it for the right price. Shouldn't cost any more than the typical wild cat chamber.

Kindly remember that the warranty/guarantee on an FN is clearly voided should you experience a failure with reloaded ammunition. Probably true on many firearms but semis, as opposed to revolvers, have less of a respect for ammunition that is not manufacturer spec original equipment.
